Successful People Know Their Failure

A conversation I was apart of yesterday is a prime example of why people don't succeed. As my neighbor and I were shooting pool, a model came up to my neighbor to discuss how her career is going.

First off, she was the one speaking the whole time. She was talking over my neighbor, just projecting that she isn't getting much work and her agency doesn't send her out anymore. By the time she got up to leave, my neighbor may have slotted in a few sentences.

What I picked up on during the one sided conversation was that she never addressed Why she is failing. Only the domino effect the failure was causing.

In a Forbes Article Titled "12 Things All Successful People Do" by Ilya Pozin, the first item on the list is "Boldly Fail". Not only do they take the failure in stride, but they work to understand WHY they failed so it won't happen again.

So, by taking this into practice; if she communicated with her last few employers and her agency, I'm sure they would be more than willing to lay down why they're not utilizing her right now. Agencies only make money when their models work, so it would be in their best interest to explain why she is not. 9 times out of 10 the reason why you're failing is an aspect you can turn around. All she has to do is recognize her failure and act on it.

Failure is in every success story. Find any thriving person and they'll say the same thing. Just remember, the successful people didn't succeed by failing. They succeeded by understanding WHY they failed and worked it until it was a success.
