Money Doesn't Provide A Better Life For Most

Does anyone other than me find it interesting that money runs our life? It's really easy to see if you take a step back. We work, get material items, travel and pay with the dollar. A lot of people think that more money will improve their life, but most of the time that's false.

Unless you're poor or destitute, money just gives you more "stuff". An article written by Mandi Woodruff in Business Insider states "When it comes to spending money, people are often content to rely on their hunches about what will make them happy".

We as a society are like dogs chasing cars. We will chase them day in and day out; but when we actually catch that car, we don't know what to do with it. So why not buy that really expensive house that you'll never use all of or that pricey car? That'll make you happy right?

Andrew Blackman hits it on the head in the Wall Street Journal. He states the fact that it's not the money that makes you happy, but how you spend the money. If you look past the vanity soaked material items, you can actually put that money to happiness.

Making enough to "not have to worry" about money needs to have a set point. How much does "not have to worry" about it cost? Infinity? That's like chasing perfection. Put some time and effort into figuring out what would make you happy and stick to that plan. Just because you can buy anything you want, doesn't mean that buying everything will make you happy.

The main thing to remember is that life and time don't care about money. You could spend your whole life chasing money, looking to use it to buy some time. Unfortunately, time doesn't wait for you and you don't last forever.

Make sure that you're putting the time into your family and friends. Money can be earned at any time, but family and friends are the ones who make our time on this earth worthwhile. Money can only buy you happiness if spent with your family and loved ones, or for your passions.
